Welcome to Batu Sungai! Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our website or booking any of our services. By accessing or using our site, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Overview of Services
Batu Sungai offers the following experiences: Jungle Trekking, Guided Eco-Tours, Cultural Experiences, Photography and Birdwatching Tours. Bookings can be made via the form on our website.
• Participant Requirements:
Children are welcome but must be able to walk and carry their own
bag. A parent or guardian must accompany them at all times. Please
consult our lead guide, as suitability may vary per activity.
2. User Responsibilities
By using our website, you agree to provide accurate information during booking, refrain from any misuse of the site (e.g., spam, false information, or disruptive behavior), avoid uploading any malicious content. To maintain security, we do not require sensitive data input on our website. All payment communications are handled privately. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality if personal communication is initiated.
3. Account Creation
No account is required to use our website or services.
4. Payments and Fees
All payments are made via private bank transfer and are due within 30 minutes of confirmation. Batu Sungai accepts transfers via its Wise international account. Details will be shared privately upon service finalisation.
Refund and Cancellation Policy:
100% refund: Cancellation made 7 days before booking date, or with valid medical documentation due to illness/injury or official certification of death in family.
50% refund: Cancellation made 4 days before booking date.
Postponements (within 12 months) allowed for group bookings with valid medical documentation due to illness/injury or official certification of death in family. If others continue the trip, the affected participant will receive a 100% refund.
5. Third-Party Services
We use Wise for international payment transfers
Trusted third-party drivers for transportation from Medan International Airport to Bukit Lawang (if requested)
Users should review Wise’s terms separately as they apply to their financial services.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Batu Sungai website, including logos, text, images and itineraries are property of Batu Sungai. Users may screenshot pages for personal reference, but may not reproduce, distribute, or modify content without permission.
7. Disclaimers
While we strive to offer the best jungle experience, availability depends on our guide(s). We are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or loss or belonging if guests do not follow instructions.
Our lead guide is ITGA-HPI certified and first-aid trained, but the jungle can be unpredictable. Please follow all safety briefings carefully.
8. Limitation of Liability
Batu Sungai will not be held responsible for website downtime or errors, payment issues caused by third parties, data breaches (as no sensitive data is stored), loss of service due to guide unavailability.
9. Termination of Services
We reserve the right to cancel a booking if payment is not received within 30 minutes of confirmation or if a guest is disrespectful or creates an unpleasant experience for our team.
As we do not use accounts, there are no user accounts to suspend or terminate.
10. Modifications to the Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. If a major change is made, users will be notified by email. Continued use of our website or services after changes implies acceptance of the updated terms.
